So Many Adventures
Hi Friends! Wow, it has been a long time since I last shared my adventures with you. There is so much that has happened. I've was laid up for a bit last week, Ryan said it was because I got "fixed", but more about that later. It gave me some time to remember all the fun things that have happened that I can tell you about.
A while ago Ryan and Nichole got together with some of their friends, and I got to come along! I was so excited to see all the people, but then I realized I wasn't the only dog there either! There were 3 other dogs there, and 2 of them were way bigger then me! We got to run and play, I was a little scared of them, until my doggie friend that I already knew showed up. There was this one dog, the really big one...he was so fast! I almost got ran over! We played with some sticks that we stole from the corner of the yard too, I was totally not guilty, I swear. It was all my doggie friend, I just happened to be sitting by him! I was so tired by the end of the night, but R
yan said I behaved really well and I got an awesome treat on the way home.
I've been learning alot too, at least I think I have been. Sometimes Ryan disagrees and says I'm stubborn. I've gotten really good at this game "Fetch" where Ryan or Nichole throw one of my favorite toys, than I go get it! I'm supposed to bring it back to them, and I do sometimes. It's just so hard to let go of my toy once I have it! Even if I do love to go fetch it again. I had a frisbee, but I sort of chewed it up one time when I was so happy to have it back.
I got to meet some other dog neighbors too, they live in our neighborhood. I've seen them a couple times when Ryan takes me walking, they seemed so big. Well, let me tell you, in person, well, in dog, they are much bigger! But they were really nice, so I let them chew on my stick that I brought back from a walk by the pond.
Ryan and Nichole and their friends and my doggie friend all went to this really big park a while ago too. They said it was called a Frisbee Golf course, and I love those but they are so frustrating! The throw these frisbees really far, well, Ryan throws them really far, Nichole tries really hard.
But, I'm not allowed to fetch them! It is so hard to behave when the discs go flying! I got to run free for a little while, but I started fetching the disc like I'm supposed to, but for some reason they weren't very happy when I brought it back to them. My doggie friend and I had some fun adventures, and even got to cool off in a stream by the frisbee golf ar
ea. It was a fun day, and I was so tired from fighting against Ryan the whole time because I wanted to fetch the frisbee so badly!
The next week after our frisbee golf adventure, Nichole took me to the Vet's office. She brought my bear along, and I wasn't sure why. Well, it turns out I had to stay at the office over night, I'm really glad she sent my bear along. A nice lady took me back, and I didn't even realize that Nichole was leaving. I was a little scared when I realized I was alone, but the lady was really nice and told me things would be ok. There were alot of other dogs there, and they were very noisey. I kept quiet and just watched everything. I was given my own kennel to lay in which was nice. The nice vet was there, and they put me up on this table and said I was going to take a nap, and it was like magic! I fell asleep right away! When I woke up, I was back in that kennel. I was a little confused, but it was nice having my bear there next to me. I love my bear. I didn't feel any different, but the vet said I got fixed, I don't know what that means but maybe Nichole will explain it to me. I had to spend the night at the vet's office, it was a little scary but I was sleepy from that magic nap I had earlier in the day. The next morning, Nichole came to pick me up, and I was so excited to see her!!! I walked right up and gave her kisses. She was holding my bear, so I sort of jumped to get it. That jump hurt me a litlte, still not sure why. Nichole handed me my bear while all the nice ladies at the Vet's offic said good bye, they were nice, but I really wanted to go home, so I carried my bear over to the door and waited, apparently that was really funny. I carried my bear out to the car and Nichole lifted me in, and whoa!!! There was the biggest treat I've ever seen in my life. It was sooo good, and I got new goose toy, and this thing that floats on the water, it was wonderful. I laid pretty low the next week, so I could recover from whatever happened. I recovered pretty quickly and Ryan and Nichole were able to take me out again!
Swimming has become my new favorite hobby, and I love playing fetch out in the water. Ryan
bought me some toys that float, and I love swimming to get them! Yesterday we did something new down by the pond, we sat in a canoe. I was really confused at first, becasue we were out on the water...but no one was swimming. I tried putting my feet out to paddle like I was swimming, but Ryan and Nichole said I didn't have to, that I needed to sit down. It was actually kinda fun. I invented a game called "I'm going to drop my toy in the water, and Ryan is going to get it out" I don't think Ryan liked the game very much. After we paddled around for a while, I got to go swimming! It was so much fun. I've even learned how to take a flying leap in to the wat
er. I'm a really good swimmer now, at least that's what Nichole said, and she says she's a swimmer too. I haven't seen one of them swim, although I'm not sure how they could, they only have two legs! I'm looking forward to seeing Nichole swim, that might be funny!
Sorry that it has been so long friends. I have to go now, I'm supposed to be taking a nap right now, and I think Nichole is on her way back here. I'll put up some pictures from other adventures soon!

Water Dog
Hello friends! I hope you all are doing great! Wow, alot has been going on around our house. The fi
rst thing, is I am getting huge. Ryan said I weigh almost 50 pounds now! He also said I'm the same size as their old friend Shep, and he was fully grown. I guess I'm going to be a big dog. I'm a little clumsy still, because my legs have gotten really long; I'm not very good at going around corners on the hard wood floor, or very good at stopping on the hard wood floor.
On Easter, Ryan and Nichole took me to the park with Nichole's family and my doggie friend's parents came too! They let me off my leash, and I got to run around. They kept throwing these things in the air, that were alot of fun to chase. But, for some reason they weren't very happy when I brought it back. I guess I'm not supposed to play fetch with frisbee discs. But, Ryan said he'd get my my own frisbee that I can chase, I'm excited for that!
It's been getting warmer out lately, which is kinda weird to me because I'm a winter puppy and I sort of prefer the colder weather. But, Nicholes' been taking me on walks down to the pond by our house which is lots of fun. Every time we go, I always bring a stick back with me. I even carry it all the way home by myself. One time, I carried one all the way home that was twice as long as me! The other day it was really warm out, so I went and stood in the water up to my chest, it felt nice. I discovered a new game that is alot of fun, I call it splashing! I tap the water with my foot, and water comes up toward me and I can bite at it! It's a great game, and it feels nice when it's warm out. Last weekend, Ryan and Nichole took me down the the pond again, and threw a stick for me. Well, it went out in the water, and I decided to go after it! I swam halfway across the pond and back! Turns out, I'm a pretty good swimmer, having big paws helps too. Nichole was pretty proud of me, she even did a happy dance.
I'm learning really well too. I know sit, stay, down...and I'm learning a new trick called "Bang" which I think means play dead. I like to play games, especially when I get treats at the end! Good to talk to you friends. Have a good day and go play outside if you can!

Busted!
Hi Friends! I've been really busy this week...losing teeth and eating things! I also got to play with my doggie friend all day on Saturday, we learned how to play tug of war with his rope!
Earlier this week I got a hold of one of Nichole's socks, the really soft ones that are sparkly (they're my favorite). I was so excited that I got it that I swallowed it. It didn't go down so well. Nichole and Ryan were really worried about me. I didn't sleep very well, but luckily for me I threw up the sock the next morning. I don't think Nichole has ever been so excited to see me throw up. I think she threw the sock away. I felt sort of bad...but that didn't stop me from eating things!
Today, I got busted eating toilet paper while Nichole took a shower. Too bad I couldn't hide the evidence faster....
Have a good day!

Sleeping Upside Down
Hi Friends! A lot has happened since St. Patrick's Day. We celebrated Nichole's birthday last weekend, and went to her parents house for dinner. It must have been a good dinner, because it smelled pretty good to me! There were alot of people there, but I put on my best behavior. Well, for most of the night I did. I went under the table while they ate dinner, and they all had pieces of paper on their laps, right where I could reach them! They called me a napkin stealer, but they were so much fun to rip apart! I didn't want to leave, I had fun and Nana's house; but I was pretty tired and bed sounded good too.
We were out of town last weekend because that nice man I told you about, Ryan's Grandpa, past away. We were in the car for a long time on the way there, so I took a nap. And I'll tell you what, I slept in the funniest position! It was so comfortable and relaxing; right on top of my batman! We were with alot of new people that weekend, Ryan's family. They were all very nice to me, even though I was a little scared at first. Nichole and Ryan were very sad last weekend, so I made sure to give them lots of kisses to make them feel better. There was a person there that Nichole said was her niece, and she was my size! Nichole said she was a baby still, just like me. She seemed to like me alot; and kinda liked her too! Ryan's Grandpa had a big farm, and we got to go hiking out in the cow pasture, down toward the pond. Wow! That was fun, I got to run around off my leash, like I was a wild puppy. It was great, and I really tired myself out. Nichole found a deer shed, and that was really fun to gnaw on, but Ryan and Nichole wouldn't let me chew on it for too long, I guess they wanted to keep it looking nice.
We got back late Saturday night, and slept in really late on Sunday morning. Ryan and Nichole had a relaxing day, and I did too!
On Monday
night, Ryan brought some things home from the store. He fired up this thing that has been sitting on the porch all winter. I learned it's called a grill, and that it was a wedding present from Ryan's Grandpa. Ryan got out some meat, and that smelled so good to me. I was kind of naughty and kept putting my front paws up on the counter to get closer to the meat. But, than Ryan reminded me about my bone that I had hidden in the backyard, so I went to chew on that for a while.
Yesterday, Ryan took me for a long walk in the rain, that was kinda fun! I got to get all wet, and shake the water everywhere! It was way more fun than a bath!
Thanks for reading friends! Have a great day!

25 Pounds!
Hello Friends!! Sorry it has been so long since I last wrote to you. It has been a very busy couple of weeks. First, Ryan was gone for a while and I got to hang out with Nichole all week. We had a good time, but I think maybe I got a little rambunctious for her a couple of times. I got to spend alot of time with Nichole in the truck too, that was fun; I went everywhere with her! At the end of the week we drove out to what she said was an Airport, and Ryan got in the car! I was so excited to see him I almost jumped all the way up front!
I also went to the vet again, and this time I was 25 pounds, although I bet right now I'm up to 30 pounds. My shoulders and hip area are beginning to turn alot lighter, and so has my tail. Nichole says I look very handsome, and I think that's good!
Later in the week, Nichole went away for a while. I spent some fun time with Ryan at night. During the day, one of Nichole's friends who I met before came to take care of me. I was a little shy at first, but she took really good care of me, and I like her alot. She also has lots of good smells on her, I think maybe she has some pets of her own! Ryan and I worked on some skills while Nichole was gone too, I am really good at Sit, Down, and Stay with words and/or hand signals. I also learned a new game called "Find It" where Ryan hides a treat, and I get to use my nose to go look for it. I like that game alot. Fetch is also my new favorite, because I get to run around.
Last weekend, I also got to play with my doggie friend again. It was the same dog I met before at my house, only this time I was bigger and not quite so scared. My favorite game to play with him, is take his toy and run behind Ryan game.
I also got entered into a cutest pet contest, and Nichole thinks that you should vote for me so that I can win.

Freedom!

Today I got to be wild and crazy! I got to go to the park, but this wasn't just any park. In fact, it was way better than the other parks that Nichole has taken me too; it was huge! There was a big field, and we followed a trail through the grass; and I got to walk without my leash! I could stop and smell things, and that took alot of time, because every time I moved, there was a new smell. I stopped alot, and when I looked up each time, Nichole was way ahead of me, so I had to run really fast to catch up. I had alot of fun; we were walking for a long time. I was one tired puppy after our walk was done! Nichole said that I went on my first hike! That sounds exciting, and I can't wait for our next one!

Da NaNaNa.......BATMAN!

Oooh man friends, do I have a cool thing to show you! Ryan and Nichole went to this crazy place called Super Skate last night, for their favorite radio station's "Skate Night".....something about rolling around on wheels. It sounds crazy to me. After that, they took me to the Pet Store! Wow, so many toys, and treats, and smells!! Nichole held me the whole time, and I was so scared and excited that I was shaking. She said I'm getting really big! They didn't find anything there, they were looking for a big toy like my bear. They made one more stop, and when they came bac

Busy Busy Busy
Hi friends! Sorry that it has taken me so long to write; it has been a very busy week. It all started last Thursday
night when I got in trouble for making too much noise in my kennel; but I had a good reason! My teeth finally got strong enough that I can demolish my Nylabone, and so I did :). It tasted really good, and I did some serious damage to it. Mom said that's OK though. The part they didn't like was when I kept picking up my bone and dropping it against the kennel floor. They said it was loud, but I liked the noise :).
On Friday, Nichole was home with me most of the day; and she moved my favorite laundry pile. It disappeared, and then came back clean and nice, and she put them up on the shelf. Oh well, I'm sure the pile will re-appear soon! I love pulling socks from the pile.
Later on Friday, Ryan came home from work early. Ryan and Nichole packed up the truck, and we went for a long drive. They told me we were going to visit some family, Ryan's Grandpa they said. They said he was sick, in a place called the hospital. They sounded really sad; I sure liked hearing about him. He sounds like a really nice man who would share lots of head rubs and treats with me. Ryan told me that they told Grandpa they would try to sneak me in, but I don't think I pass as a pet therapy dog yet. Maybe someday!

On Friday night I got to meet Ryan's parents, they were really nice! I got some nice head rubs. I tried to steal some dinner from them, but that didn't work. So, I spilled
my food all over the floor instead. You know, it's actually easier to eat it that way, when it's all spread out. Friday night I got to sleep next to Ryan and Nichole, in a new kennel. It was HUGE! It didn't have any sort of board up, so I got to use up the whole space. They even put a really comfy pad on it, I slept all night stretched out with my head on my bear, it was great! After another long car ride on Saturday, Ryan and Nichole left me in the car for a bit to go shopping. I like it when that happens, because usually there's more new smells they bring with them back into the truck! I got really hungry while they were gone, and I smelled my zip lock bag of food under Ryan's seat, so I dug it out and tore a hole in the plastic and ate my food. Ryan didn't like that trick very much, but he took me for a walk and some girls said I was the cutest puppy they had ever seen! It was a busy week, and I grew alot. I've gotten better at going for longer walks; and I learned how to stay a little better. I especially love it when Ryan carries me around. Have a great rest of the week friends, I'm going to go play outside for a while; if the neighbor dogs aren't out :).

The Snow is Gone!
Hi Friends!
Yesterday was so warm, that Nichole took me to the park for the afternoon to go play! It was really nice to run around and smell all the different smells! We went for a run up the hill to
the playground, where I investigated the steps and a slide! I love going down slides! I haven't been able to climb back up them yet, but I sure am trying hard. I went down a couple of times, than we
ran back down the hill. My feet go all dirty from the soggy ground, but it was fun to run through the mud! Nichole held me while we sat on a swing for a little bit; I sat still because I was a little afraid of a dog I saw on the other side of the park. It was a great day!

Chew Toys
I really love this new chew toy. Ryan and Nichole bought it for me last weekend, and it's my new favorite. (next to my Bear of cour

Weekend full of New

Back in the exam room, the vet was really nice to me; until I had to get another shot, that wasn't fun. But, I got some really tasty treats. Then, he held my paws and clipped my toenails. That was really scary, I thought he was going to cut my toe off!!! But, it turned out OK, and I can walk on the cement alot easier now.
On Saturday, I got to ride in the truck with Ryan and Nichole. I was in the truck a long time on Saturday.

Later on Saturday night, I heard the doorbell ring, and I learned that usually means someone is coming over. It was Ryan and Nichole's friends from Church. I've met them one time before, because I recognized their smell. But, this time there was another smell with them, it was another dog! It's the first dog I've met since my Mom and sisters. He was bigger than me, but really wanted to play. He seemed really nice and playful, but I was a little scared. I sat on Nichole's lap for a while, while the other dog smelled me, and I smelled him. I even got brave enough to lick his back paw while he was laying down. I could tell he wanted to play, and I wanted to also, but I'm not quite big enough to play with him yet. I "borrowed" his rope toy a couple of times, and ran with it under a chair, and he couldn't get to me!! He was very nice and patient with me too. He is part German shepherd I think, because he has ears just like me! I instigated some play time later when I felt more brave, but then I got scared when he answered back. When I was in the safety of Nichole's lap, I played a little bit. I really liked to put my paw on his head, and he let me. I hope that I can play with him again sometime!
Sunday was nice too, I got to ride in the truck with Ryan and Nichole to Church, and they came and let me out between their different services and activities...they sure are busy people! I got to play with my bear and new chew toy in the car, and it was really nice and cozy warm in the car. That was a nice change, usually Nichole blasts the heat to warm the car up before she goes inside anywhere. When Nichol was walking me around in the Church parking lot, she let me play in a HUGE puddle. I got to splash around, it was really fun!
Yesterday, a new thing happened. Nichole took me outside, and there was water coming out of the sky! Nichole said it was called rain, and I was very curious about it. I liked licking the water on the deck, and the rain kept falling on my ears and tickling them. Every time I felt one, I kept rubbing my ear with my paw because it tickled! The picture on top is me on the deck yesterday in the rain!
I hope you all had a fun weekend, full of new experiences and learning like I did!

Going Down?
Yesterday, my master Nichole took me for a long car ride. I took a nice nap, and when we stopped again, she got me out of the car and we were at a new place! There were alot of new smells, and it was not so cold when I got out of my kennel. She took me for a nice long walk. As we were walking, I noticed we were going toward this big...well, it had some stairs and that's all I knew. I learned it's called a playground..and that's what you do on it, play! My favorite! We went up the stairs, than Nichole went down this thing called a slide, and I thought it looked like fun, so I went down too! I did that twice, it was lots of fun. Than we walked back to the car, and there were some leaves blowing around in the wind. I pounced on them, I've gotten very good at that. There were some big scary trucks that drove by, and Nichole said they were for getting snow of the road. I don't know why you would want to do that, snow is so much fun to leap through!
I found a really nice stick too, and that was fun to chew on. Well, today we are going on another adventure, and I think I have to go to the place where I got a shot before, it's called the Vet. I'm not too sure about that place, but they do have really good treats!

Ears
So, what about me?
How about a little about me…. I was born on November 30th near in Iowa. Learning to share was something that I had to discover right away, as I had 7 sisters! Can you believe it?! 7 of them, all picking on me. My Mom loved us and took very good care of us, showing us how to eat, walk, run, and even how to play! I really liked the play part of learning. We lived in a nice warm area in the garage. One day, about 3 weeks ago, some strangers came by. These strangers were pretty interesting; they picked me up, and stroked my fur. They even found this spot behind my ears to scratch that made my tail wag so hard it practically fell off! They smelled different, but they were very nice to me. They picked me up and put me on the garage floor, I think they wanted to play, but it was a really cold floor! All I could do was cry, my poor feet were cold. Then, the nice girl picked me up and petted me, I liked her a lot, and I really liked the boy too. Well, they put me back with my Mom and pesky sisters for a while, and the strangers went inside with the people that fed my Mom. After nibbling on some of my sisters, the strangers came back out to get me. Th
e boy picked me up, and held me while the girl who fed my Mom gave me a nice pet on the head and said good-bye. Then, they took me outside! It was a scary place, but I was curious to see where we were going. The boy (who I learned is my master named Ryan) put me on warm blanket that was on the girl’s (who I learned is my master named Nichole) lap. I learned that we were in the Truck, and that we had a long drive to go home. I was pretty scared, but eventually I fell asleep. I woke up, and must not have digested my lunch very well, because I threw it up on Nichole’s sleeve…but it still smelled pretty yummy; so I ate it again.
Then, we stopped the truck, and Ryan picked up, and put me on the ground. It was really cold and white. That white stuff, snow I think is what you call it, was cold on my little feet. I think they wanted me to go to the bathroom. I tried really hard, but I was too scared. So, we got back in the truck and kept driving. Soon, the truck
stopped and they told me that we were home. I’m not sure what it meant, but I was glad to be out of the moving truck.
We went inside the house, and I got to run around and smell everything!!! There were way too many smells to check out. Ryan and Nichole sat down on the floor with me, and showed me this giant fuzzy thing. At first, I thought it was another dog and I was a little scared. But, I learned that I can bite it and it does not bite me back! It's my Bear, and it's mine, no one else's. I am very nice about sharing it with Ryan and Nichole though.
I've been at my home now for 3 weeks and have learned that I'm supposed to out by this big glass door that I can see outside of when I have to go to the bathroom. And, when I sit on my rear I get a really yummy treat. I also learned that stairs are not so scary, and really fun to race down as fast as I can. That's all for now, see you soon friends!
